Today, according to the European Strategy, the acceleration of the deployment of alternative low-carbon energy in transport, the facilitation of the use and maintenance of electric mobility as well as the transition to electric vehicles are identified as areas of action with the corresponding priorities. European Commission has taken considerable interest in the smart city’s agenda. The aim in this paper is to study the further dynamic development of e-mobility as one of the elements of a smart city. The objective of this study is to offer the academic community the advantages of e-mobility for a clean, green and sustainable city. The case study is: Could e-mobility be the first step towards Durres’s future as a smart city? The methodology used by us is based primarily on the latest academic studies in this field and secondly on obtaining the opinions of the target group of students, administrative and academic staff at Durres University, regarding e-mobility; with the impact that it has on the efficiency of citizens' lives. First comes the problem statement, selecting target groups, informing and educating them about e-mobility and questionnaires. The analysis of questionnaire results processed by us, allow us to study the transport situation in Durres and recommend to the citizens, to local and national government to support the use of e-mobility.
