Ongoing changes in the economy have caused new monetary policies to be considered, which help its development. Ups and downs, affected by various factors should be perceived and corrected if it is necessary. One of these policies is quantitative easing, seen as a possible way to set the economy back to motion after a very difficult period. In order to review the interventions of the Government and central bank in context, we need to briefly examine the significance of money creation and how this relates to economic policy and performance in Albania. This study analyses the positive and negative (if there is any) side effects of quantitative easing and its impacton public finance, with particular emphasis on the expected and experienced effects and efficiency of policy instruments used in the European countries. At the end, the question that arises is: should countries with economic difficulties as Albania use quantitative easing?
