Author Guidelines

Interdisciplinary Journal of Research and Development (IJRD)

1. Submission Process

Authors are required to submit their manuscripts exclusively via email to:

ijrd@uamd.edu.al

Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) and prepared in strict accordance with the guidelines outlined below.

Submissions that do not comply with these guidelines may be returned to the authors for correction prior to peer review.

2. Manuscript Formatting Requirements

  • Font: 12-point, Times New Roman

  • Line spacing: Double-spaced

  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides

  • Page size: Letter size

  • Page numbers: Required

3. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized in the following order:

  1. Title Page

  2. Author(s)

  3. Affiliation(s)

  4. Abstract

  5. Keywords

  6. Introduction

  7. Methods

  8. Results

  9. Discussion

  10. Conclusion

  11. Acknowledgments (if applicable)

  12. References

Abstract

  • Length: 150–250 words

  • The abstract should clearly summarize the objectives, methodology, key results, and conclusions of the study.

Keywords

  • Provide 3–6 keywords immediately after the abstract.

Word Limit

  • Minimum: 3000 words

  • Maximum: 8000–9000 words
    (excluding abstract, tables, figures, and references)

4. Language and Writing Style

  • Manuscripts must be written in English (either American or British spelling is acceptable, but must be used consistently).

  • Authors should use clear, precise, and grammatically correct language.

  • Active voice and a formal academic tone are encouraged.

  • Technical or discipline-specific terminology should be clearly defined to ensure accessibility for a broad, interdisciplinary readership.

5. Figures and Tables

  • Figures and tables must be embedded within the manuscript at the appropriate points of reference.

  • Each figure and table must be numbered sequentially and include a clear, descriptive caption.

  • Figures must be submitted in TIFF, JPEG, or PNG format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.

  • Authors are responsible for ensuring the quality, clarity, and originality of all visual materials.

6. References and Citations

  • In-text citations and reference lists must follow the APA (American Psychological Association) style.

Reference list

  • References must be listed alphabetically at the end of the manuscript.

7. Ethical Considerations

Authors must ensure that their research complies with internationally recognized ethical standards.

  • Studies involving human participants or animals must include a statement confirming approval by an appropriate ethics committee and informed consent, where applicable.

  • Research misconduct, including data fabrication, falsification, or unethical practices, is strictly prohibited.

8. Conflict of Interest and Funding Disclosure

Authors are required to disclose:

  • Any financial or personal relationships that could influence the research.

  • All sources of funding supporting the research.

If no conflicts of interest exist, authors should explicitly state this.

9. Author Contributions

Authors are encouraged to include a brief statement specifying individual contributions (e.g., conceptualization, methodology, data analysis, writing, supervision), in line with recognized contribution frameworks (e.g., CRediT taxonomy).

10. Data Availability Statement

Authors are encouraged to indicate whether the data supporting the findings of the study are available and, if applicable, where and how the data can be accessed.

11. Originality Check and Peer Review Process

  • All submitted manuscripts are screened using iThenticate plagiarism detection software prior to peer review.

  • Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% (excluding references, quotations, and bibliographic material) may be rejected or returned for revision.

Peer Review

  • IJRD operates a double-blind peer review process.

  • Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers.

  • Authors can expect an initial editorial decision within 4–7 weeks from the date of submission.

  • Reviewers’ comments and recommendations are shared with authors to support manuscript improvement and ensure high scholarly standards.

12. Copyright, Open Access, and Licensing

Upon acceptance, authors are required to sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA), transferring publishing rights to the Interdisciplinary Journal of Research and Development (IJRD).

However, IJRD strongly supports open access publishing:

  • All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

  • This license permits unrestricted use, distribution, adaptation, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original authors and source are properly cited.

  • Authors retain their moral rights, including the right to be acknowledged as the original creators.

  • Authors may deposit the final published version in institutional repositories, personal websites, or scholarly platforms, with proper citation and DOI reference.

All published articles are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure permanent accessibility and citation.

13. Article Processing Charges

  • IJRD does not charge submission or publication fees.

14. Submission Checklist

Before submission, authors should ensure that:

  • The manuscript follows the journal’s formatting and structure requirements.

  • All required sections are included.

  • References and citations comply with APA style.

  • Ethical approval, conflict of interest, funding, and data availability statements are provided where applicable.
