Abstract

Understanding the phenomenon of terrorism, its conceptual perception and the theories developed for this purpose are of particular importance. Only after we become familiar with a phenomenon can we confront it. In this way, the fundamental human rights and freedoms, which are so endangered by such an operation, will be guaranteed to the highest possible degree. Providing advice to policy-making bodies and the executive branch for active action in the fight against terrorism, including the product that sciences of various fields offer, as an important instrument in this process, is of particular importance. The challenges they offer, the desire to serve an even higher cause, that of raising fundamental rights and freedoms to the highest pedestal, requires scientists to do something more, which will inspire many other efforts in the future to help prevent and combat the terrorist threat. In this spirit, technology policies offered the EU, and the counter-terrorism front in general, a key instrument for achieving this goal.
